"First Green Polymer from Polyethylene"
Braskem, a chemical company from Brazil has claimed that it has made first green polyethylene and it is ethanol based polyethylene product.

The product contains 100% recyclable raw materials though the recyclability of the finished product is still not cleared from the company sources.

According to Braskem this is the first certified green product i.e. polyethylene in the world, based on ethanol made locally from sugar cane.

This green polymer is high density polyethylene and is one of the widely used resins for flexible packaging.

5 million USD has been spent on setting up of a pilot unit and the related R&D.

The area of application of this product is very much wide and it covers everything from personal care to vehicles packaging.
