New Patent Issued for Bioremediation Product
O2 Tube Technologies Oxygenation System had recently received a U.S. patent for the worlds first in-situ dissolved oxygen generation and vertical re-circulation system for groundwater cleanup in gravels, sands, silts, and clays. The O2 Tube system can provide variable concentrations of dissolved oxygen as needed to stimulate biological degradation of contaminants in groundwater without elaborate treatment systems and chemicals.

The main advantage of using an O2 Tube oxygen system is its ability to deliver oxygen throughout low flow sites. Oftentimes on these sites, oxygen release compounds demonstrate poor oxygen diffusion characteristics.

The O2 Tube cell continually recirculates the groundwater in a vertical top down pattern around the designated well. As the groundwater flows through the cell, microscopic bubbles of pure oxygen are evolved (via electrolysis), increasing the dissolved oxygen level to the groundwater's saturation point.

The groundwater which immediately surrounds the well containing the O2 Tube cell achieves dissolved oxygen levels above where bacteria and algae can exist, hence, the wells don't have the plugging problems associated with other bioremediation technologies. As the highly oxygenated water within the well flows outward, the water quickly dilutes with fresh water to levels where contaminant degrading bacteria thrive.
